Over the years SCFF has built strong working relationships across the sector, and are proud members of several key alliances and coalitions. These include:
We also work closely with marine science and conservation organisations such as:
Newcastle University

SCFF has previously been a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on fisheries in Westminster, and is a current member of the Cross Party Parliamentary Group (CPPG) on fisheries and coastal communities in the Scottish parliament.
The Scottish Entanglement Alliance (SEA) is a partnership between seven organisations dedicated to promoting and protecting Scotland’s wildlife, heritage and sustainable marine industries. SEA works closely with the Scottish inshore fishing industry to provide a co-ordinated, comprehensive monitoring and engagement programme to better understand the scale and impact of marine animal entanglements in our waters, and work towards developing practical and proportional mitigation strategies to reduce this threat.
Our Seas is an alliance of Scottish organisations, businesses, communities and individuals that support a move to sustainable use of our coastal seas. The alliance calls for the re-establishment of a modern, coastal limit on bottom-towed fisheries to restrict damaging fishing from the coastal zones of our seas that are most vulnerable. If implemented fairly, this transition would allow our inshore marine environment to recover. It would provide a nursery for fish populations, sustainable jobs for sustainable fishermen, vibrant seas for coastal tourism and a resilient future for Scotland.
As a platform of grassroots organisations, LIFE represents the interests of 33 organisations in 15 EU Member States, associating around 10,000 small scale fishers across all European sea basins from the Baltic to the Black Sea. LIFE is committed to fishing in a low impact manner, transforming low impact fishing into an attractive and economically viable profession, sustaining fish stocks and protecting the marine environment, transforming the food system into a fairer and more sustainable one, and contributing to prosperous coastal communities.
